24th November-30th November

The last week of November leads to December and the Christmas period. It also tends to be really noticeable how dark it is and personally its a difficult time to remember 3 tragic moments in my life when they truly affected my life. The weather also deteriorates. I am already affected by the weather;more on this later.

On the 24th an informal meeting about Bus shelters started at 10am. The company that provides them wants to withdraw them. It has cost and service implications that must be discussed. There are a lot of issues to discuss.

On the 25th I had to do some professional Care Quality Commission work in Medway and get away for a Upper Medway Drainage Board meeting for 2pm. It was procedural,  but I had to get the issues of Headcorns sewerage, drainage and surface water issue over to people who clearly did not know. It also gave me a chance to speak to the Environment Agency about contamination in the Sherway and ask them to be more open about possible Planning implications.

Then off to the Economic Development OSC scrutiny meeting. It went on to 11pm.

On the 26th I had a Development meeting about Gypsy and Travellers.

On the 27th I was curling in agony. On Dec 1st 1989 I had a life threatening car accident  an RTC. I was on life support initially, then acute care in a coma for 3 weeks, and then told I would never walk after 3 months in hospital. I've had several operations to correct and rebuild me, but I'm still non-symmetric and with a skeleton very bent in places and legs with old fractures find walking and standing awkward, but nobody notices. One leg is 3 inches shorter. So I get a lot of back pain. It was very bad at the end of November. I had trapped nerves. I was to be admitted to hospital the week later.

The 28th I struggled to get to a Conservative Group meeting.

The 29th I had to rest-horizontal.

The 30th I went to a Carol Service in Sutton Valence. It was part of the Weald of kent Hospice remembrance at Christmas of loved ones. I met many friends there, many of us had lost loved ones. I enjoyed the singing of carols too. I also met the Chair of Sutton Valence Parish Council, the Mayor and Mayoress and the management of the Hospice. I always feel at ease in Sutton Valence, they are cherished neighbours and the Chair Eileen Riden is very dear to me.
